L'OREAL 24 Hour Gel Liner Review

It's been too long ;_; Soooo I thought I'd come back with a review for one of the best eyeliners I've used. Honestly, I don't use eyeliner very often so my opinion may go against what everyone else says, but let me tell you something. I really love this.

If you haven't tried using gel liners before, don't fret because L'OREAL was so kind enough to give instructions on the back.

[Quoted from actual packaging]

"Step 1: Dip your brush into the jar to select the right amount of gel.
Step 2: Wipe off excess on tissue if necessary.
Step 3: Use the high precision brush like a pencil to draw the line along your lash line."

In all honesty, I found the instructions on the box no help whatsoever. If you want a more detailed walkthrough on how you apply gel liner, Google and Youtube is at your service.

The one that I bought was "01 black". This also comes with a brush, if you're wondering. It's thick and creamy so it's easy to apply, and drying time depends on how thick the application is but a "normal" thin application dries quite quickly.

If you're wondering how waterproof, it's quite waterproof once it's dried. If you don't let it dry properly, it MAY smudge but otherwise, it's really good. It might smudge once it's completely dried as well, but it's not likely if you don't go touching or rubbing it.

Tips to removing the eyeliner~

Because this is waterproof, it makes it very difficult to remove the eyeliner; especially when you've had it on for more than a few hours. Here's how I remove it. Instead of using the wet wipes, I use the liquid make-up remover.
This is the brand I use. To be honest, I don't really enjoy using it because it leaves a sticky feeling on my face (not completely sure whether that's meant to happen :S) and it smells a little weird to me. Planning to get one that smells nicer. Maybe something like that smells like strawberries? ^^ Anyway...

What I normally do is get cotton pads, put some remover on it and gently press them against my eyes for around 10 seconds, then swipe a little and lift. If you didn't apply a lot of eyeliner/eye make-up and didn't have it on for very long, half of what you had on your eyes should be on the cotton pads. Just keep repeating it until most of it's off. It normally takes me two tries to get majority off.

For the really stubborn or hard to reach parts, use a cotton bud (those cotton sticks you would use to clean your ears) and wet it with some remover. Stroke gently on the areas with the eyeliner but be careful not to spread the eyeliner you've already removed or else it might leave some grey areas on the parts you've swiped.

That's pretty much it. I'm sorry for the crappy explanation. Explaining things isn't my strongest point.

Overall rating: ★★★★☆
Origin: Japan (even if it's in the L'OREAL Paris line)
Price: Approximately AUD$22.50

I bought this eyeliner at my local pharmacy (or as many people would call it, a drug store) while it was on a "Buy One Get One Free" sale. If it wasn't for that sale, I wouldn't have purchased it. Also, many things in Australia is actually really overpriced so don't be scared thinking it's going to be expensive if you're in a different country because this product is most likely going to be much cheaper where you are. If you convert prices and everything, that is.

So yeah! Thank you so much for reading this review~ If you want to know more about this product, comment and ask below ^^ I hope you found this helpful in some way...
