Being Different

Okay, here's the thing. I know this will be somewhat similar to my other post Male K-POP Idols and their feminine side but hear me out.

All you westerners, don't be so judgemental please. Just because K-POP idols don't speak the same language as you do, wear skinny jeans all day long and wear make-up (regardless of their gender) doesn't mean that they're gay, homosexual, retarded or anything along those lines. Just because they don't do things the way westerners do, doesn't mean they're not human.

At my school people used to make fun of K-POP because they didn't speak English or because they spoke Engrish. So what?! Have you tried to learn a different language in a short period of time then go to that country and speak it? DIDN'T THINK SO. Also, before the story of Gangnam Style (and even after), people used to comment on male K-POP idols. They would say, 'is that a girl or a guy?' or 'why the hell is he wearing make-up?' Now I know they look a little feminine sometimes but they can't help it. Most of the time it's genetics. YOU CAN'T BLAME THEM. I feel really hurt even though they're not insulting me but they're insulting what I like. I know it shouldn't bring me down no matter what if I'm a true fan but what would they do if I called them homosexual or something just because they have long hair or something? Probably beat the crap out of me if they were thugs but otherwise, they would feel insulted and hurt inside.

The new fashion trend for guys is to wear skinny jeans and all those other types of clothes (well here in Australia it is) but when it comes to K-POP idols, the hate just keeps on comin' :P 'They look like girls because they wear skinny jeans.' *gonna swear a little here* BITCH PLEASE. Look in the mirror. You wear freakin' pastel coloured skinny jeans and you call them a girl. Are you fucking serious? And you say make-up is for girls? Look at Hollywood actors. THEY ALL HAVE MAKE-UP ON. Sure, it's not as obvious but it's still make-up. What' wrong with wearing eyeliner? I bet when those haters were younger they would've played with their mother's make-up-INCLUDING THE EYELINER.

This is slightly different for the female K-POP idols. The make-up's normal but there's one thing. The slutty clothing. When westerners didn't have that much influence on K-POP, the girls were basically innocent looking, with the exception of a few. Girls' Generation is doing a good thing by keeping up that innocent look most of the time. All that cute stuff, what's wrong with it? Does society have to live in a world where women expose and sell their bodies? I'm not hating on her but Hyuna has turned into a complete sex machine; and that's not a good thing. She used to be cute, she even wanted be cute but thanks to western influence, she's now one of the most...sluttiest girls in K-POP when she performs. All her dances are full of 'rubbing-my-body-to-look-sexy' sort of stuff and when she dances, her dresses probably aren't even classified as dresses because it's so damn short. At least she has shorts under those things but geez, wear a longer skirt.

Those companies are trying to get their music into the western world-mainly the US but to do that, they need to attract them and the only way is to pretty much dress them up like trashy sluts. Thanks America :P Sweet, innocent and cute to just plain trashy.

What I'm trying to say is that there isn't one fixed image for a girl or guy to look. If everyone looked the same what's the point in calling ourselves by our names? Might as well just live by as a number, if you ask me. So please, just because they're different doesn't mean they're not human.

U-KISS Fanfic- Somday...[Chapter 7]

Kiseop scrunched his eyebrows. ‘What did you say?’ Either Kevin said something completely different or he said exactly what Kiseop heard.

‘Nothing, let’s go back to the hospital.’ Kevin muttered with a gentle smile. Kiseop chuckled quietly to himself and pushed Kevin’s wheelchair towards the exit.

I wonder what Eli would say?

‘YOU WHAT?!’ Eli screamed furiously. He groaned loudly and flipped Kevin’s bedside table, tipping over everything and breaking a couple of photo frames. Kevin had never seen Eli this angry before. Maybe it was because of him that he was becoming angrier?

‘Eli, I’m sorry,’ Kevin whimpered, afraid. Eli scoffed. He punched the wall as hard as he could and rested his head on the surface.

‘Woo Sung Hyun…maybe I was wrong. Maybe it was you who was playing with everyone’s feelings. Maybe you’re the evil one, not Kiseop.’ That was the first time Eli had used Kevin’s Korean name. Kevin sat quietly on the bed and waited for Eli to leave the room, trying to avoid any eye contact. ‘I’m going now,’ Eli finally said, making his way out of Kevin’s ward.

‘I’m sorry but I’m not changing my mind,’ Kevin said under his breath. Eli chuckled.

‘Someday you’ll come running back to me. You always do.’ As Eli walked out of the room, Kevin bent down to pick up the photographs that were in the photo frames that were now broken. Kevin looked at the photos and held in against him chest.

He sighed and mumbled, ‘he probably didn’t see what the photos were of.’ He held the photos in both of his hands and looked at it again. One of the pictures was of Kevin’s family but the other one was of him and Eli at a theme park. Eli had one arm around Kevin’s shoulders and they were both smiling.

What happened to the times like this?

On the last night in the hospital, Kevin decided to try and walk since he had nothing else to do and it was only 7pm. As he began to stand, his legs started to shake. The doctor told him he might need walking therapy since he was confined in a wheelchair for so long but Kevin didn’t care. He just wanted to know what it was like to walk again. The feeling of walking…how he missed it.

Kevin took a few steps and collapsed to the ground. There was no pain in his legs but he started to cry. He wasn’t exactly sure why water was falling from his eyes. No pain, no tears-that makes sense but why on earth is he crying?

‘Stop it, Kevin. Why do you have to cry at everything?’ he said to himself, hitting his head repetitively.

‘I pity that kid, always so sad.’

‘A little melodramatic, if you ask me.’ Kevin turned his head slightly and found two nurses standing by his door with obviously nothing better to do. One of the nurses was pretty but skinny, almost malnourished. The other one was plump, her stomach spilt out of her blouse.

Why do they even bother to judge me? It’s not like they understand what I’m going through.

‘Let’s leave the kid. He must be going through some hard stuff at the moment.’

That’s right, leave. Leave and let me be at peace.

Kevin struggled to get on his bed, especially when he was on the floor and couldn’t stand up. When he was finally sitting on the edge of the mattress, Kevin started going through the pictures he took with Eli.

I forgot I had a whole file full of pictures of just Eli and I on my phone.

As he looked through the pictures all the memories with Eli came flowing in again at once like a tsunami that just flooded his brain. All the good times and all the bad. It just suddenly came rushing in. Kevin had mixed emotions now; he was happy, sad, angry, and who knows what other emotions he had.

‘I should delete this before it triggers my ‘waterworks’ again,’ he suggested. Before hitting the button with the trashcan on it, Kevin sighed deeply. ‘I might regret doing this someday.’ He pressed the button and tossed his phone to the other end of the bed. Kevin threw himself back and lay quietly on his bed. Kevin’s phone suddenly rang.

It must be Kiseop. I don’t think I should answer any phone calls today.

He left his phone to ring. As soon as his phone stopped ringing, Kevin’s doctor walked into the room.

‘Good news, Kevin! You can be discharged today. We’ve already notified your manager and he said told us that he’ll send someone over to pick you up so pack your things!’ the doctor said cheerfully.

Before he left Kevin was sure the doctor winked in his direction.

Don’t tell me he was making a pass at me. He must be 40 or something!

He shook his head and shrugged off the matter and started packing all his belongings. All he had was a small travel bag that was meant for only his clothes but somehow, Kevin managed to stuff about 20 get-well-soon gifts into his bag. The bag was pretty stuffed and looked as if it was going to explode any second. Kevin double-checked the room and made sure that he didn’t forget anything. If he did, he would have a hard time packing those items into the already-full bag.

‘Hyung, hurry up. The manager wanted us to quickly get back to the dorm because he has something to tell us!’ That annoying voice sounded familiar. It was Dongho.

‘How did you get here? You can’t drive a car, can you?’ Dongho scoffed at the thought and smiled proudly as he pulled out his wallet and waved a card in front of Kevin’s face.

‘While you were stuck in this boring place I got my license!’ Kevin just nodded. Dongho frowned, disappointed with Kevin’s reaction. ‘Let’s go. You packed all your things already, right?’ Without further ado, Kevin picked up his travel bag off his bed and followed Dongho downstairs in his wheelchair.

As Kevin climbed into Dongho’s new car, someone called out his name. He looked around but saw no one waving at him or coming towards him.

‘Let’s hope the medication’s not playing with my mind,’ Kevin sighed and ruffled his hair.

‘Ya, Kevin hyung! Are you going to ignore me now?’ Dongho yelled, getting in the driver’s seat. ‘Hurry up and close the door, will you? I can’t drive while you’re half-hanging out of the car.’ Kevin muttered an apology and shut the door. ‘Hyung, I heard you made your decision.’

Kevin leaned against the car door and pouted. ‘It’s not even a definite answer and you celebrate the occasion.’ From the corner of his eye, Kevin could see Dongho’s shocked face.

‘YOU CONFESSED TO KISEOP AND YOU SAY IT’S NOT DEFINITE?! ARE YOU SERIOUS, WOO SUNG HYUN?!’ he blurted out angrily.

‘Why is everyone calling me by my full name?’

‘Because we’re all angry at you for being so…blind and ignorant!’ Kevin turned his head towards the maknae. He scrunched his eyebrows and pondered. ‘Look, you either like Eli or Kiseop. You can’t just jump to either of them when you feel like it. Pick before your next birthday, which is…next Monday. That’s four days away so decide for yourself,’ Dongho advised. ‘By the way, Eli swapped rooms with me so from now on we’re roommates.’

The rest of the drive back to the dorm was quiet. Not even the radio was on. It was like they were at someone’s funeral. Only the sounds of traffic coming from all directions of the car could be heard.

Now that I think about it, why does Dongho help me with these things? It shouldn’t bother him, right?

After nearly one hour on the road, Kevin and Dongho finally arrived at their dorm. Kevin had fallen asleep and was snoring softly.

‘That rascal’s sleeping, huh? I shouldn’t wake him up in case he gets grumpy,’ Dongho grumbled as he thought of a way to get Kevin inside without waking him. ‘I think he’s too heavy to be carried up the stairs but I might as well try. If he really is too heavy I’ll just drag him up the stairs.’

As Dongho struggled to carry Kevin’s dead weight on his shoulders up the staircase, someone was walking down the stairs. Dongho took a quick glance to see who it was and saw Eli’s face. Eli turned to Dongho and stopped walking.

He opened his mouth to yell but instead muttered, ‘what were you doing with Kevin? Isn’t he still meant to be in the hospital?’

‘You’re so slow on things, hyung! He got discharged today and I went to pick him up. Oh, can you get his wheelchair in the back of my car? Here’s the keys.’ Dongho tossed the keys at Eli and continued to climb the stairs.

‘You still haven’t answered my question, Dongho. What were you doing with him?’ Instead of answering Dongho just ignored Eli and kept walking. ‘YA! Don’t just walk away without answering me.’

Dongho stopped and said under his breath, ‘I just picked him up from the hospital. Nothing more.’ Eli shook his head and headed towards the building’s entrance. ‘That guy really needs to loosen up a little.’

When Dongho and walked into the dorm with a sleeping Kevin on his back, the whole of the U-KISS members (except Eli who was getting the wheelchair) and their manager were all gathered in front of the television watching a black screen.

‘Oh, you guys are finally…here. We’ll have to tell Kevin later. Take a seat, Dongho. Just put Kevin on the couch,’ the manager said with no expression. Dongho did as he was told. ‘I need to tell you all something and this concerns all of you.’ The manager looked at Kiseop then turned to Kevin. ‘No dating other members.’

U-KISS Fanfic- Someday...[Chapter 6]

‘Kevin, where are you? I went to the hospital but you weren’t there,’ Eli said immediately after Kevin answered his phone. He turned to Kiseop and looked for an answer. Kiseop just shrugged but asked for the phone to be handed to him. ‘Kevin?’ Eli asked.

What do I say to him? I can’t tell him that I’m with Kiseop! Eli would probably kill him if I said that!

‘I-I’m at a park near the hospital. The doctor said I was allowed to get out for a bit so I did and happened to come across a park,’ Kevin lied.

‘And happened to find Kiseop there too?’

‘What?’ Kevin turned to look behind him and saw Eli standing about 40 metres away from him. He hung up and started to wheel towards Eli when Kiseop stopped him.

‘No, I’ll go.’ Kevin was about to argue but was hushed. Kiseop smiled but tears were starting to drip from his face. He knew what was going to happen next. So did Kevin. There was a kiss on the cheek for Kevin and Kiseop was gone. Kevin closed his eyes and let the stream of tears flow slowly down his cheeks. He could hear everything; everything including the things he didn’t want to. Every time he thought it finally ended, the screams of agony continued.

I can’t take it anymore. I have to leave.

Kevin took a deep breath and started to push his wheelchair in the direction of where he thought the hospital, catching a short glimpse at Kiseop before leaving. Kiseop was on his knees, slouching. Blood filled his mouth and bruises appeared all over his body. Kevin looked away, horrified at such a scene and left the park crying.

Kevin suddenly awoke, finding himself lying in his hospital bed. He looked around and sat up. Dongho was sitting at the end of the bed.
‘Hyung, are you okay? You came back to the hospital crying,’ Dongho asked worriedly. Kevin just nodded, remembering what happened at the park. ‘Something happened between Eli and Kiseop, right?’

How did Dongho get it so easily?!

‘N-no, it’s just that…’

‘Then why aren’t either of them with you?’ Dongho interrupted. Kevin sighed and sneezed quite loudly. ‘Bless you.’

‘Look, don’t tell them I told you this. Don’t even mention this to anyone. This stays between us. Eli got angry that Kiseop kissed…me and started hurting him,’ Kevin explained. He started to cry. Dongho just shook his head in disbelief.

‘I told that guy to keep his cool but I guess he didn’t listen.’ He turned to look at Kevin with a serious face. These were one of the very few times Dongho looked serious. All the other times he was either acting cute or acting stupid. ‘Answer this for me. You have to be honest or else it won’t help you and I won’t be able to help you either.’ Kevin hesitated but agreed slightly unwillingly. ‘Who do you love more; Eli or Kiseop?’

‘I-I don’t know, it’s…’

‘Let’s make it simpler. If both of them were in a fatal situation and you could only save one of them, who would you save?’ Dongho asked with a fake smile. ‘If you want to get through this love story, you have to answer that. I’ll give you time to think about it but I’ll ask again soon.’ Dongho stood up with a groan and waved Kevin goodbye before walking out of his room.

Not long after Dongho left the room, Kevin got a phone call. His heart skipped a beat. It was Eli. He took a deep breath but decided to just go back to sleep after putting his phone on silent.

I think I shouldn’t talk to either of them for now. I’ll just let the matter settle down but for now I shouldn’t say anything.

Kevin hid under the blanket when he heard someone attempting to open the door to his room. He immediately froze and pretended to sleep, hoping it would fool whoever was walking closer to him.

‘Goodbye Kevin,’ the person muttered and kissed Kevin’s forehead. The man gently placed a card on the bedside table before leaving.

Who was that? It wasn’t Eli or Kiseop, was it? And why did he say goodbye?

He lowered the blanket so it sat right under his eyes. When he saw no one in the room he came out of hiding. Kevin picked up the card and started to read it.

“Dear Kevin,

I’m sorry I made you worry about me. I shouldn’t have been so selfish so I’m going overseas for a bit so I won’t be an obstacle for you but also to get away from this mess. I’m following AJ to America tonight but like I said, don’t worry about me. You just stay in Korea with the others. I’ll see you in around five months, okay?
From Lee Kiseop”

Kevin was devastated. He picked up his phone and called Soohyun, who he thought was at the dorm.

‘Hyung, is Kiseop there?’ Kevin asked him worriedly.
Soohyun stuttered a bit then said, ‘He’s on the way to the dorm but he’s going out in half an hour and…’

‘How long does it take to get from the hospital to the airport?’ There was a muttering sound at the other end of the phone, probably Soohyun trying to figure it out.

‘One and a half hours, I think,’ Soohyun finally came to a conclusion. Kevin hung up and quickly got on his wheelchair. He wheeled himself into the elevator but when he got to the lobby, he stopped.

‘How the hell do I get there when I can’t drive and I’m handicapped?’ he yelled in frustration.

‘Where do you want to go?’ a female voice asked. Kevin looked up and saw an almost-too-familiar face. It was Jihye, U-KISS’ stylist. She towered over Kevin even if she wasn’t the tallest lady around.

‘Can you take me to the airport, noona? It’s really important.’ Kevin begged. Jihye stroked her chin as if stroking a long beard.

‘Am I allowed to take you out?’ she asked rhetorically and started to push Kevin’s wheelchair towards her car.

‘So, tell me why you’re going to the airport. Is it something to do with those two?’ Kevin turned to Jihye who was paying more attention to the road. He was nearly as shocked as when he found out Dongho knew as well. ‘What, you think I’m some idiot? Ya, your noona knows more than you think.’ Kevin stayed silent. As the car approached the traffic light that glowed red, Kevin rested his head on the window.

‘Noona, why were you at the hospital?’ he asked, his breath fogging up the window.

‘My husband has a very rare disease that doctors haven’t found a cure for.’ The lights turned green and the car continued driving again. ‘It’s sad, you know? Why my husband, of all people? He never did anything bad, so why did he have to suffer? I’m sure you would’ve thought the same after getting hit. “Why me?”’ Kevin shook his head a smiled half-heartedly.

‘I never thought of it as a bad thing. I thought of it as a test. Something to test me whether I would “make it” or “break it” when I was at my worst.’ Jihye chuckled to herself. She let out a deep sigh and glanced at Kevin.

‘I suppose you’re one of those people who see a glass half full. I wish I were one of those people.’ Kevin looked at Jihye and to his surprise, found her shedding a tear.

Is this the noona’s real side?

The car came to a stop, this time in front of the airport’s main entrance. Kevin unbuckled his seatbelt and was about to jump out of the car when Jihye stopped him.

‘Does this mean you’re going for this one instead of the other?’ she asked softly.

‘W-what…’

‘You’re going to have to pick one of them sooner or later. That’s all I’m going to tell you. Now go before it’s too late.’ Kevin bowed his head and got out of the car. He got onto his wheelchair and quickly wheeled himself in to the airport and looked around.

How the hell am I going to find Kiseop?

The airport was filled with people. Foreigners, locals, it was like the whole world had come to visit the airport. Kevin took a long look at the schedules that were shown on a message board.

“New York; Flight A1436, departure at 16:45 at Gate 5”

Kevin checked the time on his phone and realised it was half-past 4. He had fifteen minutes to find Kiseop in a big and crowded airport. He pushed his wheelchair in the direction of all the food stores, even without knowing whether Kiseop was there or not. He stopped to a group of high school girls who were looking through photos on a camera.

‘I’m probably going to regret this,’ Kevin mumbled to himself and approached them. ‘Excuse me have you seen a tall…’

‘Kevin-oppa!!!!’ The girls’ screams deafened him.

‘H-hello. Have you seen Kiseop around here?’ The girls nodded their heads but still stared at Kevin as if it were a dream. One of the girls finally snapped out of it and pointed to the direction of the departure gates.

‘We saw him not too long ago,’ she muttered. Kevin was about to cry with happiness. He bowed and thanked them then started wheeling himself towards gates.

When he finally made it to there, Gate 5 was closed. He was too late. Through the aching in his arms, he felt his heart break. It shattered like glass, into many little pieces and disintegrated into dust. Kevin collapsed to the floor and stared at the high ceiling. He could feel tears beginning to roll down his face with the little beads of sweat.

‘Why, why, why, why?!’ he screamed, hitting his fist against the floor continuously. Kevin felt like he was going to die from sadness. He sat up and buried his face in his hands.

So this is how it feels to be alone? I’d never thought it be so…painful.

‘Sir, are you alright? Is there anything I can do to help?’ a member of the airport’s staff asked politely. Kevin sighed.

‘If you could turn back the clock I’d be so glad for you to do that,’ Kevin muttered.

‘Turn back the clock for what?’ a familiar voice questioned. Kevin looked up and found Kiseop towering above him. He stood up, shocked, and hit Kiseop on the head. ‘What’d you do that for?’

‘You idiot!’ Kevin yelled and wrapped his arms tightly around Kiseop. ‘Don’t scare me like that again.’ Kiseop gently placed his arms around Kevin and pulled him in closer.

‘It’s alright Kevin, I’m here,’ Kiseop whispered in his ear.

Kevin sighed and muttered, ‘Can I tell you something?’

‘What is it?’

‘I…I love you, Kiseop.’

Popular Korean hairstyles

Finally, a serious blog post =_=

Okay, a lot of you might be wondering, 'I want to get a haircut but how should it look like' or something along those lines. Have no fear anymore 'cause I'm going to discuss with you what are the most popular fringes and maybe the type of cut.

So this is one of the most popular types of hairstyles/fringes in South Korea at the moment.
Suzy Bae from Miss A-cute mushroom fringe

The fringe is obviously 'bangs' and if you didn't know, the shape of it doesn't come naturally. What I mean by that is to get your bangs to curl in like Suzy's, you need a hairdryer or something. Don't ask me about it, I'm not quite sure. Anyway, Suzy has sorta like a mushroom bob fringe (kinda like G-Dragon's mushroom hair in 'Monster'...) and lets her long hair sit in front of her shoulders. Cute, no?

If you have a SUPER round face, I do not recommend this hairstyle unless you want to emphasis your face shape a lot more.

If you don't like thick bangs, you could always go for something like this.

Sulli from f(x)- thinned bangs
As you can see, Sulli's fringe is much more thinner and it's actually cut to go longer as you go to the sides of her face. You know what I mean? It's hard to explain...but yeah, Sulli doesn't have a round-ish face but has a rather ovally face. Sorta like my ideal face shape~ ^_^ Sulli also braids her hair and it looks like one side of the braid has more hair? LOL. That's style though, so it doesn't matter :) Just don't do it too unevenly.

Next popular style!

Hyuna from 4Minute- middle parting

Here we have a middle parting but you can tell that Hyuna's fringe is quite long. Hyuna's face shape is between a round face and an oval face to me. It's like Sulli's but more longer...XD Yeah, the middle parting doesn't suit a lot of people, most of the time because of their face shape or the way their hair flows (sounds weird but it DOES make a difference). If you're one of those people who suits middle partings and can look as good as Hyuna with it, good for you! I don't mean that in a sarcastic way.

If it doesn't suit you and makes you look like a nerd or makes you look gay (not homosexual or happy, stupid-it's Australian slang), then go for the normal side parting but with 'style'...GANGNAM STYLE >:D Just joking. (Gangnam Style's a real trend in Australia at the moment)

UEE from After School- side parting
So here, you see just a normal side-parting. Nothing unusual there :P Ooh, I want to mention something here. I think a side-parting suits anyone. Like, even people with bangs or a middle-parting will look good. Any shaped face would look good! Gives out a natural feel~~

The last popular hairstyle is really common throughout the world but I don't think you'll be surprised.

Jessica from Girls' Generation- side sweep

The side-sweep fringe >:D

To be honest, I've always wanted a side fringe like Jessica's. It looks so cool :3 Plus, she's so pretty with the fringe. Okay, so you can tell where she 'sweeps' her fringe to the side. I don't think you understand me but oh well. Yeah, it's not only this type of side-sweep fringe that's popular.

This is another type of a side-sweep. It might not seem too obvious but the fringe actually covers the WHOLE forehead rather than having a small gap. Also, Sunny doesn't have a parting. Her hair just falls...DX I'm terrible at explaining things. Side-sweeps suit only certain face shapes. I haven't seen anyone with a long face and a side-sweep fringe but if you do have a long face and wants to have this type of fringe, go for it if you really want to! Or if you want, you can ask you hairdresser whether it might suit you.

I hope you enjoyed reading this, I didn't take as much time as I did with the make-up one but I hope it was as good as that :3 Thanks for reading and hope this was helpful~~ :D
